"Mrs. Sandman"

a journey to the West Haven Beach. the story of what one girl can create with her own two hands.

A cloudy Saturday afternoon, Tiffany Gould, 19, strolls the shoreline of her local beach to scope out a possible location to build a sandcastle.
She is greeted with a splash as she tests the waters. Finding no sand here, she continues her search.

Resting along the damp sand, Tiffany begins to form a castle figure.

Before long, she realizes the texture of the sand is just not complying on this unfortunate day. The ultimate sandcastle must be postponed for a sunnier afternoon.

New England lives up to its reputation as Tiffany returns to the West Haven Beach the very next day. This time, choosing a wide open space in which to sculpt.

With the sun shining brightly and a warm breeze, she gathers the grains of sand.

Shortly a mound is formed, the baseline for her castle.

With clear precision, Tiffany skillfully places her collection of shells onto her castle for decoration.

Operation build a sandcastle is finally complete! "Mrs. Sandman" lays back to view her creation and rests her toes in the sand.
